World Ozone Day – 2024 Celebrated

National Ozone Unit (NOU), Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination (MoCC&EC) celebrated the World Ozone Day 2024 on the theme of “Montreal Protocol: Advancing Climate Action”. In this regard, an awareness raising event was organized by the MoCC&EC, NOU in Islamabad to celebrate the World Ozone Day and Pakistan’s achievements under the Montreal Protocol. The event was attended by more than 50 representatives from public and private sector, including the representatives of industries, industrial associations, R&D institutions, civil society, academia and others.

Honourable Madam Romina Khurshid Alam, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change and Environmental Coordination graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Respected Ms. Aisha Humera Chaudhary, Federal Secretary & Mr. Rana Ahmed Atteeq Anwar, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination were also present during the event. The experts, academia, and social sector representatives discussed emerging issues of the ozone layer protection, like science of ozone, destruction of ozone layer, energy efficiency linkage with ozone layer, green building codes, new refrigerants, and flammability issues.
